Ćevapi is a grilled dish of minced meat, found traditionally in the countries of southeastern Europe (the Balkans). They are usually served in groups of five to ten pieces on a plate or in a flatbread, often with chopped onions, sour cream, kajmak, ajvar, feta cheese, minced red pepper and salt.
There are many things that make Ćevapi unique. For starters, they are made with a mixture of beef, lamb, and/or pork. The mixture of meats creates a very unique flavor and texture in the sausage.
These sausages pack so much flavour we could eat them on their own. But pairing them with a chewy flatbread, a light smear of sauce, and the bite of raw onion takes them from tasty sausages to an incredible meal.
